Billabong and O'Neill are the latest players in the sustainable wetsuit game. Taking notes from Patagonia, they have made a big shift towards a more sustainable footprint.
As surfers, we have an innate drive to protect the waters and the environment that surrounds it. We've had the opportunity to team up with Patagonia in a number of ways over the last few years, and feel that their mission, "We're in Business to Save Our Home Planet",perfectly aligns with the Raglan Community.
We are stoked to be one of Billabong's featured shops for Create for the Core–their customised boardshort program was launched earlier this year to support core surf shop retailers as a result of the global pandemic.
An in-depth look at the Hughes Surfboards Link, originally designed by the late Craig Hughes. Over the last few years, Craig's son Luke has given the Link a few tweaks to take intermediate surfers from fun boards into the performance realm. Hughes Surfboards has teamed up with New Zealand Surf Journal to give you an in-depth look at the Hughes Surfboards Link and offer you a chance to win your very own!
Before Hughes Surfboards, there was Wave Graffitti.
Wave Graffitti was established in the 80’s over in Ulladulla, NSW, where the late Craig Hughes – our old man and Raglan Surf Co founder, was living at the time, surfing and shaping surfboards.
Inspired by the graffiti movement and under the moniker of Wave Graffitti, Craig’s boards took on a life of their own, with his hand drawn bold graphics, fluro sprays and that unforgettable skate grunge vibe.
The ocean plays a huge part in every Kiwi’s life. For some it’s their haven, others it’s where they gather kai for the family. No matter what the ocean means to you, it’s essential that we take care of it.
Yet, on any given day, on any beach, you will find plastic. Microplastics, macro-plastics, hard, soft, and everything in between. It’s heartbreaking. We can’t lose faith but we can keep doing our best to keep it clean - and that’s where the giveaway comes in.
